Office Inc. is a meta narrative game made in Unreal Engine 5. You are the 427th player to play as David, a regular man with a regular 9 to 5. The Narrator wants you to make David do his job and follow orders. The Narrator quickly realises that the developers have not made much of a game and decides to take on the development himself, creating simple puzzles and tasks for David while he had his way to the bosses office.
Office Inc. was created as a 2nd year vertical slice project at Massey University Bachelor of Screen Arts. We were tasked to create a short (10 - 15 mins) and polished slice of a game within 3 weeks. We had a team of 3 to create this game: Jonathan Pilaar was our Set Dresser and Level Designer, Jacob Jopson was our Puzzle Designer.
We rewrote the script multiple times to create a fun and understandable experience while also linking it to the other facets of the design of Office Inc. Office Inc. was designed as a narrative experience that can entertain players of all ages.
Office Inc. was a great learning experience. This was my second time using Unreal Engine and my first time using it in a group. I was able to develop my skills for Level Design, Writing, Sound implementation and engineering and I was also able to work with a Voice Actor to create a stunning vocal performance.
